Honey, I'm home!

Paz and I got back from Belfast on Monday night, and have been diligently making progress on the house since then. I'm very bored of cleaning. I also had my first driving lesson in 10 years yesterday, which was rather more fun.
I have now been unemployed for three months and I'm beginning to be rather bored. I'm in that rather awkward position of not having enough experience to get the next job, and no way to get the experience. So I'm reconsidering my route.
What I want to do is project-manage web and software development projects. But I think I need to actually be able to do the development before I start managing other people doing it. I have several options right now: firstly, to get a part-time job and go back to Uni for an MSc Computer Science; secondly, to get a part-time job, learn C# and .NET, and get Microsoft certification; thirdly, to get a full-time job and see where it takes me.
The MSc will give me a good background but will teach me Java—the universities are afraid of .NET— and will take me two years. The .NET training will theoretically take me 6 months, but I wonder if they can really teach me object-oriented programming, C# and relational databases adequately in that time. It does, however, include some commercial experience, and .NET skills are way more in demand than Java.
I can afford either option, provided that I pull in £600/month from a part-time position, or less if I get a full-time job until September. Either way, I think I need to find a job!
I'm supposed to call the .NET guy back tomorrow morning, but I don't think that's enough time to make the decision.

I hope whatever path you take makes you happy, though.
