I CAN HAZ A JOB!!!!
It's about bloody time. It's an agency placement so I'm technically working for Adecco while I work at Proctor & Gamble. It's a year's maternity cover co-ordinating an overseas training programme. My job title is "Administration Assistant", which is a bit rubbish, but it's all good experience and CV-able. It's 4 days/week and pays enough to cover the bills, so I can finish my driving lessons without changing instructor. And hopefully the recession will be mostly over before this time next year.
The commute is going to be a bitch. On Google maps it's pretty much a straight line East from my house and, driving the route on my last lesson, takes about 25 mins off-peak (The messiest bit is the Gosforth High Street wiggle. There's never a good time of day for those junctions). But no bus runs that route! So I can take a bus from outside my house (through the Gosforth High Street wiggle) to South Gosforth, then the Metro and then a 15 min walk. Or I can walk 15 mins in the wrong direction, get on the Metro, still have to change at S. Gosforth and a 15 min walk at the end.
I time-trialled the bus-metro-walk route at 50 mins (off-peak). I need to try the walk-metro-metro-walk route this afternoon to see if it's better. I guess I won't know until I see how slow the bus is in the rush hour. The bus only runs every half hour, so if I miss it I'm stuffed. *bites nails*
